Dr. Michael Jiang received his bachelor’s degree in computer science and technology from Beijing Language and Culture University, master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Shenyang Normal University, Ph. D in Education from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. So far, he has published more than ten SSCI papers, including seven as the first author (five Q1 papers and two Q2 papers), five co-authored papers (all Q1 papers). The courses he has taught includeBusiness Statistics,Introduction to Linguistics,An Introduction to Major English-Speaking Societies and Their Cultures,College English,Statistics in English Learning and Teaching.
He has won awards such as the first prize in the 2014 FLTRP “Teaching Star” contest, “Outstanding Guide Teacher at National English Competition for College Students”, first and second prizes for “Outstanding research papers” at the 3rdLiaoning Province Philosophy and Social Science Annual Meeting, “Outstanding Master’s Thesis in Liaoning Province”, and “Outstanding Graduates of Liaoning Province”. He has participated in the editing of multiple English textbooks and teaching materials, as well as translated multiple works. He has participated in multiple research projects, including the National Social Science Fund, and has conducted multiple research projects as primary investigator. Additionally, he has presented papers at international conferences such as AERA, ICCE, GCCCE and ISET.
His research interests include technology enhanced language learning (TELL), flipped classroom approach, and educational VR. Currently, he is a member of the Asia Pacific Society for Computers in Education, American Educational Research Association, and a member of the International Alliance of Universities for Improvement and Quality Assurance.
