Yicun Jianghas a PhD in English from LingnanUniversityin Hong Kongand joined theSchool of Foreign Languagesat Shenzhen TechnologyUniversity in2019. He taught at Shandong Technology and BusinessUniversity before coming toSZTU. His research interests lie mostly in semiotics andmetaphor study, theoretical linguistics, and cross-cultural study. Some of hisrecently published peer-reviewed articlesinclude“A Peircean Epistemology of Metaphor”(Semiotica),“A Semiotic Interpretation of Qian Zhongshu’s Thought on Trope” (Comparative Literature in China),“The Impasse of Metaphorical Essentialism”(Chinese Semiotic Studies), and“Inter-semiotic Translation in Traditional Chinese Literati Paintings”(Signs and Media).He also serves as a special research fellow atthe Institute of Semiotics & Media Studies (ISMS), Sichuan University.
